In strava it shows my power was 0-25 watts for 40% of my ride, which would only be true if it included that coffee shop break as well. However, I also noticed that the time period I was in the coffee shop and my garmin was auto-paused was recorded as zeros as well. When looking at the numbers in golden cheetah there were quite a few times where I had zeros recorded for cadence, heart rate, power etc. I noticed that the avg power in garmin connect was significantly different (higher) than in strava or golden cheetah. ![]() ![]() I would love to really understand how you are using this planned vs actual.I recently purchased a stages power meter and went on a ride. So if I saw last week some days TSS were much higher than expected what do I do with that information? Generally, if the total weekly TSS is much higher than planned that would drive a strongly negative TSB so as you say the PMC chart can give you that and tell you, hey maybe you better take it easy this week. Not saying there is no value, I just don’t understand. Your chart looks interesting but I don’t understand the value of comparing planned TSS to actual would really bring when looking at the past on a daily level, same with IF. In any event, the utility of this platform is incredibly helpful. But if there were some way to pull Title, TSS, and IF values into a spreadsheet from a plan created within Trainer Day, that would be STUPENDOUS. I imagine that would entail creating some sort of input framework for the performed values. Now, without a paid subscription model, I’m not sure it’d be worth it to create something like this for users for free. Here’s the graph I’m using to try and resume training: This time, though, using your planning tool, it was a cinch to copy down the projected TSS and IF values for the entire season from a week/day-of-week (as opposed to date) workout “calendar.” Google Sheets now allows some more flexible graphing options, and if formatted correctly, users can put together some interesting visuals of data. In previous years and with previous additions to the family, I’ve just resumed training where I left off without any real attention to the overall progression. For instance, my wife and I just had our third child, and that threw a very cute wrench into the base plan I was following. This gives a much better picture of status within a particular plan. Using the planning tool and a Google Sheet, I’ve put together a graph that plots planned versus executed TSS and IF values. The performance management chart is cool and all, but as a strategic map it’s not all that useful without a comparison against target TSS over long periods. I’m also a Golden Cheetah user, and so I have a pretty wide suite of analytical tools on that platform – but there’s still not a planned-vs-achieved visualization tool there, at least not of which I’m aware. I’ve been noodling around with the plans feature for a bit and a few more observations floated to the top of my mind. I’m not a fan of that display, but something like a projected TSS versus an achieved TSS on a line graph would be quite nice. TR has something like this to calculate planned and achieved training stress – it’s like a bar-chart or something atop the calendar. – a visualization tool that illustrates the progressive training load from week to week. This way users could simplify planning different blocks around target events. ![]() I think it’d be especially useful for backwards planning if you could designate a date on which plans conclude rather than just initiate. – an “End On” rather than “Start On” date. In putting together this plan – just from what I already have and in addition to the already-present EXCELLENT TOOL – here’s what I noticed or found would be nice to have: I really like the visualization this calendar offers, and I’ve already successfully exported these workouts to my Google calendar from now until June. I’ve had a large number of workouts arranged in lists by week and day, just as your video describes, so it was easy to generate a season-long plan based on those workouts using this tool. This is quite honestly the coolest thing I’ve seen from open-source training material. ![]()
